Re: Is Nobby getting homesick yet?
Nobby is doing the right thing in my opinion.
There is not much in the UK these days unless one has commitments with children.
Every time that I go back to visit my parents in Huddersfield, the place seems to have gone downhill further.
Hudds has never really been a glamour location but it was never as bad as it seems to be becoming,
This seems to go for the whole country though.
Beery youths in the first class compartment on the train from Manchester Airport who were smoking for fucks sake and the ticket lad was too scared to tell them to stop or kick them out.
Gangs of marauding youths (mainly girls) boozed up and puking in Huddersfield town centre.
Litter everywhere.
What the fuck happened to the UK?

It's been financially raped....once one of the richest countries in the world, all it's wealth has been shifted into around 5% of the population's pockets.
The social consequences are there for all to see.
Oh, and the deliberate dumbing down that's been going on for nearly 30 years has also contributed in no small part.
Plus the cunting weather makes everyone want to fight.
I'm out.

Thatcher fucked us over big time , then new labour arse fucked us some more. Unfortunately both Cameron and Clegg are also heavily into anal.

The batter on that fish suggests slightly overdone but not too much to make a difference... as it looks a right meaty piece of fish

Non-brewed is fucking vile in concept and not much better in execution.
Vinegar comes from vin aigre - soured wine. Anything else is an abomination, surely?

I agree Bert....but this from Wikipedia:
Non-brewed condiment is a vinegar substitute created with water, acetic acid, flavourings and caramel colour.
It is used widely at fish and chip shops through the United Kingdom instead of malt vinegar.

Dirty bastards.
The fact that it has to be watered down means you know that someone will miss it and some poor sod will get to reap the burning benefit...

Re: Is Nobby getting homesick yet?
Balsamic vinegar is made of sweet trebbiano grape pressings. The grape pressings are boiled until these turn dark. The syrup is prepared for the aging process. The dark syrup is placed into oaken kegs with a certain vinegar to begin the process of aging. Through the years, the kegs become smaller before being placed on the market. When the moisture evaporates, it thickens and concentrates the flavor of the vinegar. Many people have used balsamic vinegar to treat infections, wounds and body aches.
Digestive Aid
1. Erica Brigati, a registered dietitian, states on Livestrong.com that balsamic vinegar contains antioxidants, called polyphenols that "may boost the activity of the digestive enzyme pepsin. This enzyme helps to break proteins down into smaller amino acids." According to Ms. Brigati, this process enhances the immune system, metabolism, cellular repair, and muscle building. Balsamic vinegar also contains acetic acid, which helps the body absorb certain minerals that can strengthen bones.
Reduces Fat
2. Reducing fat in the body is another health benefit of balsamic vinegar. Using it as a substitute for regular salad dressing or mayonnaise can reduce overall fat and calorie intake.
Diabetes
3. Using balsamic vinegar with meals can help control diabetes. Ms. Brigati states, "It appears that as little as five teaspoons of the vinegar with a meal can improve insulin sensitivity." Better insulin levels means having better control of diabetes.
Antioxidant Activity
4. Balsamic vinegar's antioxidants, such as polyphenols, protect the body from cancer and heart disease. Antioxidants protect from cell damage and improve the immune system. Antioxidants guard against harmful radicals in the body. Ms Brigati reports, "More research is needed though to further evaluate the polyphenol content of balsamic vinegar and their exact mechanisms of action."
Other Health Benefits of Balsamic Vinegar
5. Marion Volk, a lecturer, practitioner and registered provider, states at Alstudio.com that balsamic vinegar can help reduce headaches and lower the risk for anemia. She points out that balsamic can suppress appetite, and help to control weight. Ms. Volk also reports that adding balsamic vinegar into a diet can help an individual to become more energetic, and less fatigued.

I like a dash on scrambled eggs, and toast soaked with extra virgin olive oil instead of marg or butter
