(i) Agree to a set bookie for prices.
(ii) Take a set number of games in Group stages (ten, say) - at the choice of the poster. No more than two games in an individual group in any set of ten.
(iii) Match bet on result, level stakes.
(iv) Tot up.

All could be easily followed on the plethora of fucking wallchart spreadsheets we will be swamped with in the run-up.

Continue through the latter stages when games are known

That would make it a bit of both, Tony - you're predicting the result of a finite number of games but you haven't got to guess on the dead rubber between Malta and Bhutan. Adds a bit of skill to it. You have 48 games to choose from - pick the ten best for value.
