I have gout

Had it for the last 48 hours in my right foot.
It's made me wake up screaming in agony for two nights in a row.
Had no fucking sleep hardly and feel dreadful.
It's the worst pain I've ever felt in my life.

a workmate of mine has that.
takes pills for it when it flares up.
and it seems hellish.

Naproxen and a teaspoon of baking powder mixed in water is a good remedy Tone

They don't help, MJ. It's crystals of uric acid which form usually in extremities. The way to shift it is to somehow dilute the crystals but until that happens, it fucking hurts like Hades as it causes pain not dissimilar to arthritis.

Apparently the worst pain known to mankind are cluster headaches , people have been know to kill themselves the pain is so severe.
Toothache can be pretty bad too imo.
Isnt there a medication a women can get for period pain/ menstrual cramps over the counter that also eases gout? Cant recall the name tho

Trust me Boat....the worst pain known to man is gout....I used to get migraines that made me vomit and I've passed kidney stones....luxury compared to this...I actually sobbed with pain yesterday.

Doctor has said on the phone that he'll have some cochicine sent round to me.

I know a bloke who has it, suffered more in his old home (which still had lead pipes, which was why I asked - his doctor made the link) than now but said that it is that bad that he can't even put a sheet over it because it fucking murders him.
In terms of having an ounce or two of cotton lightly draped over it, that's got to be grim.
In terms of pain, meanwhile, I'm going to offer someone having to cough after having their chest cracked open for heart bypass surgery. They even give you a designated pillow they call a "teddy" for weeks afterwards that you have to clutch to you just so that everything doesn't pop out or open.

Had it one week today....No let up in sight.
Pain still absurd, swelling and redness worse, can't walk, even with a stick.

Now had it a fortnight.
Still, red, still swollen....still can't walk without a stick.
Pain around 50% as intense as it was though.
Still haven't taken fuck all for it.
