haven't eaten steak for years.
fish scares the shit out of me.
and up until a few weeks ago,
i ate fresh veg every weekend.
lots of veg.
i can't be bothered with veggies right now.
so it's chips or jacket spuds with baked beans or tinned tomatoes.

happy days.

i used to love smoked mackerel.
but i couldn't enjoy it because it was always cold before i'd eaten it.

tell you what,
monkfish;
white,
juicy,
big chunky flakes o' flesh,
but a bit bland.

any suggestions on spicing it up?

i've just noticed that it's pissing down.

anyway,
monkfish,
i've thought about mixing a few herbs with garlic paste,
coating the fish with it,
and baking it.

any idea how long for?
or what gas-mark?

Just dab butter on the fish, sprinkle garlic powder on it, cover with clingfilm, pierce the clingfilm in about 6 places then put it in the microwave on medium for about 10 minutes.

i was thinking more along the lines of,
virgin olive oil,
enfused with herbs and garlic,
smeared over the top,
wrapped in foil,
and in the gas oven. Neutral

I do ALL my fish with the microwave and clingfilm method....my son's mate who was a chef at the time showed me. Works a fucking treat and tastes better than oven cooked.
