What did Bill Shankley say
Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it's much more serious than that.
Brian Reade is a very funny and intelligent man.why doesn't Paul McCartney step in ?

Luton '83? Reckon that was either the 3-3 game when they used three different keepers and each conceded one (Jake Findlay went off injured in the first half, Kirk Stephens filled in, Mal Donaghy kept goal the second half) or the 6-0 twatting when Rush got five on the same day Tony Woodcock got five for the Arsenal at Villa.
Fucking lightweights. I can remember seeing Kevin Hector in a game which in retrospect decided the 1974/5 title. And I don't really give a flying fuck, although I'd go nuts if we finally dragged a title to Old Trafford* after 60 years of waiting for at least a share.
*No, not that one

Re: Dear Mr Hicks ...
I have issues with a lot of what he says, MG. Goes back to when he was a regional writer. He's an aspiring Tony Parsons (don't get me started). The only difference being that he doesn't start sentences with "and".
And he doesn't make them brief.
And he doesn't make them staccato.
And he doesn't moralise once he's finished with a "because".
Because Tony Parsons has patented it. And Tony Parsons is a twat.

I still like BR, but I don't like Tony Parsons. He is a fattist. He is always condemning this country, he thinks his Japanese wife and her country are superior.
Tell that to those who built the Bridge, and Whales

Re: Dear Mr Hicks ...
He also repeatedly goes back to the old saw about the Queen being German as well.
Given that she lives in the house her grandfather was born in, she's more British than the vast majority of the country. Funny he doesn't dwell on that, the cunt.

Re: Dear Mr Hicks ...
My background isn't spectacular, MG, but even then, on the principle according to Brian Reade I would be a Norwegian.
