I would love to go back to being a veggie.

The problem is its so high carb/low protein and I am forever hungry, and therefore eating too much.

Switched to a high protein diet last October and have lost loads of weight.

No eating bread at the moment though, so no sandwich for me anyway.

Always the problem with a veggie diet as you say, Kit. It takes some effort to sit and eat six pieces of chicken because protein basically absorbs water and expands to bloat. Similar calorific content to carbs as well.

My grandad was a miner and all his snap consisted of was cheese and jam sandwiches, he'd make me one or two if i was about, and they were bloody lovely. ...i have one every now and then when i get the urge.

I bet most think the combination sounds rank, but they compliment each other so good imo Very Happy

I just looked it up, and a decent sized portion of dhal, rice and nan can have 1500-2000 calories.

And then 1 1/2 to 2 hours later I was starving hungry again.

No wonder I was getting fat.
