last night,going to work........
i was overwhelmed and,,,,,
quite,
disconcerted actually.
it was disturbing almost.
by a strong feeling of calm,
and tranquility.
as i rode the bus,
it felt so weird.
like i was seeing everything for the first time,
long lingering looks,
at street-junctions,
reading road-signs,
people,
fields.
as if i'd never seen them before.
i felt so,
detatched,
and yet,
so there.
like some sort of alien.
and so laid-back,
ME!
even when i got to work.
i felt so untouchable,
and yet so,
touched.
by everything,
and everybody.
the mood was wasted.
it should have been spent,
enjoying the company of friends,
but i don't have any.
and listening to intelligent conversations,
whilst slowly getting ones self into a pleasant state of inebriation.
but,
alas,
it wasn't/isn't to be.
i might easily have got wound up,
by work,
and people.
but it just wasn't going to happen.
the feeling has since waned some what.
the bitterness is,
will,
and must,
inevitably,
re-assert itself.
but wow!
what a fuckin trip.
have a nice day y'all.

Wow eric can almost relate to some of that , at certain times and not just going to work. It seem your living on auto pilot mate.
I suggest you get a fortnight away in the sunshine, like Abdul tried to drum into you, it'll do you the world of good.
Me? just got back from Paris, Disneyland was great, but the fucking ques were a nightmare, mainly the bigger rides. Ellie my youngest was running from one to the other like a headless chicken
The city was fantastic and very busy and apart just the odd shower the weather was perfect and kind.
Goin to be playing catch up now the whole weekend with all the jobs around the house and garden

well good for her.
and as for auto-pilot.
maybe you're right.
it's like,
i don't know,
a kind of survival mechanism in the brain.
something just trips a switch,
and i go into escape-mode,
or something.
as for getting away,
where would i go?
and i know that i'd be bored witless.
the bunker does mate.
the bunker does.

Eric, I'm not taking the piss, but you'd appreciate Blackpool. You do it in this order:
Stop at the South Shore. Look around in disgust at just about everything there designed to draw the money out of your pockets.
Then go to the North Shore. It's like a different world.
As for Paris in August, surprised it was busy, BOAT, as the French tend to shut up shop for the month and bugger off to the coast. Did they have The Beach on the Seine?

Re: last night,going to work........
Disney will be busy because it's one of the places everyone will go to but they usually have a tourist board drive to keep people in Paris, hence the importing of sand to make a fake beach on the river for the month.
Maybe it's as you say, though - it's a "near" for Spain, Belgium, Germnay, Netherlands and us. Worse places to go as well, although they tend to like strikes and riots in the height of summer

That's the point, MG. South Shore is for the bairns and stag/hen dos.
North Shore, quiet reflection and quick run to Fleetwood for the chippies.
I fucking hate the South Shore with a passion. Happy Shopper Vegas if the last government had had their way.
