Martin O'Neill was the favourite for every managerial job that came up at one time, Eric. Moyes is the new O'Neill, he's in the frame for United, Arsenal, the full time Chelsea job and the next Pope.

He's done a great job at Everton.

News from the Vatican is that Pope Frank has yet to be officially ratified and may yet be asked to stand aside as Martin O'Neill becomes available. O'Neill has yet to comment, other than going to church on Sunday. He is already a Catholic, apparently, and although the Pope has historically been sent a season ticket by the Parkhead dignitaries to wind up the tax dodgers, it is not expected that O'Neill would use it after the Ridsdale exit clause business.

There is competition, however. He is also unofficially listening to the BBC as a text message of his was intercepted saying simply "Smoky Bacon". This is believed to be part of an ongoing text conversation with jug-eared, sore-toed unfunny sellout Leicester crisp-touting cunt Gary Winston Lineker. They both made their names of course at Leicester where O'Neill won a couple of League Cups with a team of dustbins while Lineker was monumentally prolific in his time at his home town club where he won absolutely fuck all, year in, year out and then went to Everton, where he was even more prolific but also drew a blank for trophies despite them being in a four year spell where they won four trophies. O'Neill also won European Cups with Nottingham Forest. Lineker also won an FA Cup (fucking finally) for Spurs against Forest but did his best to lose it, missing a penalty and stinking the fucking place out until Des Walker took pity on him and turned one into his own net.

He is also slated to take charge at Blackburn from April 12 to April 14 before the Venkis sack him

Martin O'Neill?
I could never take a man who wears an anorak with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows seriously.
