Chelsea meanwhile could be the first club to hold two European club titles simultaneously. You could never do it before because they were played in order of importance, least to most. The UEFA Cup winners would lose their title before the Cup Winners/Champions would be played the next year. The Cup Winners or the Champions would at least go into the hat the next season as holders so couldn't go down a tier or two. You can only do it now since the CL dropouts go in Europa, and then you have to have a really shit holder.
