Sounds about right, Eric.  I've just fucked and blinded through a couple of sites trying to book a hotel in IE and binned it after fuck knows how long.  Went into Chrome, in and out in ten minutes after a bit of scrutiny and finding free parking, breakfast and a pool for a family of 4 quite cheap

I've been using the Maxthon browser for about a year now.
Three times the speed of Chrome chaps.
At least.

well,
we shall see.
before I had my pc looked at,
I was able to log into my bf a/c,
but was having trouble moving around within it.
I kept getting "an error has occurred" pop-ups.

like I said,
we shall see.Neutral

What Tony said, Eric.  I only use Chrome because it was installed on this in my absence, so it's "there".  Even that annoys me because it tries to take over the fucking thing every two weeks and I only use it for a couple of things (although that appears to be expanded after last night's farrago).  My netbook has Firefox but as it's Linux-based, I'm happy to not fuck about with installing anything new on it.

I have a cheap tablet.  I play games on it and have the odd bet.  I have a cheap phone that does the same except you can still phone on it too, which appears to be a novelty in the phone industry now.

The sum total of my machine time is divided between a handful of blogs, a couple of fora, Twitter, the odd bet and playing Scrabble or its equivalent (not counting the Kindle in this - a book is a book, no matter how artificial).  Strangely, they're all pretty much on different systems (phone and tablet are both Android so might have the same language but different accents)

I had this notion of having a tablet here with bf site up.
then if all went well,
 lose the pc.
but you're still swimming in shark infested waters.
i'm gonna have to find somebody who has one.
