lying in bed,in the small hours,

half asleep:
mind working overtime.
so many thoughts,ideas,images.

wheels turning,
grinding and churning.

thoughts and ideas that i wish i could have written down.
but then,i would have interupted the semi-conscious state,
and there would have been nothing to make note of.

so much crap/bad/miserable/awful with the minutia of good.

isn't that reckoned to be the brain having a tidy-up?

a bit like a computer;
disk-clean,
and defragmenting.

as it flicks through the dross,
deleting,
and saving.

fucking tinnitus,i remember thinking.

it's all temporary though isn't it.
nothing's ever truely deleted.
it's all there,locked away.
to be re-awakened,
at any time in the future.

and we have no control over it.
it runs at will.
faster'faster,
sometimes stalling,
and stopping,
for whatever reason.

am i going mad?

I do the same, Eric. Am at the point where I actually carry something around to jot notes into for later. Some of your best ideas are there when your subconscious is beavering away in the back office.

Not if they're vague enough. You go back to them and find yourself off in a completely different direction.

I read back some of the stuff I've posted in the past now and again and I don't recognise my own work...
