I reckon that was the price of this NOT happening that day:

A POLICE officer was killed by a falling 20ft oak tree branch as he trained for this Sunday's London Marathon, an inquest heard.
Nicholas Wharton, 30, was due to marry this summer and had just started his dream career with the Metropolitan Police Force when he died.
He was running in Popjoy woods close to his home in Chailey, East Sussex, when the huge branch fell from a diseased tree and crushed him to death on September 11 last year.
Jogger Harry Offer, from Richmond, Surrey, told the Eastbourne hearing he came across Mr Wharton, dressed in blue running shorts and grey running shoes, lying unconscious near the fallen branch.
Mr Offer called 999 and tried to resuscitate Mr Wharton, but he was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived half an hour later.
A post-mortem found he died from multiple injuries, including serious chest trauma, after being hit on the back by the falling branch.
