What's basically happening here

Just as when you go to a function (party, wedding reception, funeral etc) and eventually all the older people end up one side of the room/hall with the youngsters on the other, so it is with this place and PP.....the majority of us here are 35 upwards whilst the other place is packed with people in their 20's.
It was needed and long may it continue.

It was once said to me that iyou judge a forum by how it would operate in a boozer.

This one would be a big table with a kitty, everyone chipping in an it all being convivial.

The other fuckers are sat in an outcast corner, little by way of conversation, trying to avoid the landlord's eye because he doesn't approve and everyone of them is sat with a wall behind them for fear of the backstab. They will eventually get thrown out and go to another boozer to fuck that up as the cycle continues.

when i was younger,
i'd do that.
get my sporting life,find a corner,in a quiet pub.
have a good read,do a few pints,and study the form,
never speaking,or being spoken to.
imagining/assuming that nobody knew i was there.

then one grand-national day,
i went in,as usual.

People will obviously disagree with each other over a variety of topics, but as far as I was concerned I never posted anything that would have warranted a smack in the teeth had we been in a bar.

I have no objection to it being quiet and serene in here. It makes a pleasant change. Plus, I think some of the better old bf posters might be minded to join who took one look at PP and excused themselves.
