Premiership
- Bolton (40pts) in seventh are nearer bottom (30pts) than fourth (51pts)
- of the bottom seven sides, only Wolves have lost more games away from home than Liverpool in sixth. Only Wolves and Fulham in thise seven have scored fewer goals away than Liverpool too.

Championship
- Leeds are fifth and well settled in the playoff places but have conceded 60 goals - only the bottom 2 and Doncaster Rovers have conceded more.

D1
- Peterborough in third have conceded more than bottom side Swindon - 61 v 60 and Swindon have played a game more. They have scored exactly twice their total, though - 86 v 43.
- Peterborough have been involved in 147 goals. That's 70 more than Notts County (F37 A40). They have conceded more goals than every other side has scored except themselves, Brighton (top) and Southampton (4th). They've conceded the most goals at home in the entire division. Yet they are practically certain of a playoff place and have a strong claim for an automatic promotion place.

D2
- Hereford are second equal behind Bury in away wins (Bury have 10, Hereford 8 ). Bury are second. Hereford are fourth from bottom. Burton Albion at third bottom have won 7 at home. Bury in second have too. However, they've played two home games more.

Carroll (£30 million) and Torres (£50 million) were the most expensive double striker signings of the january transfer window ever but even at £80 million more combined than eric and Bert cost and nearly a quarter of a year later, the over-priced cock jockeys have scored no more goals than eric and Bert have Shocked

What am I looking at, Tone? The less than one tenth of a goal thing?

That, as well as the compressed nature of the final table.

Surprised on those terms you never went,

Tone. Five points covering the top 8, 8 covering the top 10, Everton lost the title by dropping all four points to Carlisle, there were twelve sides still in the hunt at mid-March, Liverpool threw a two goal lead away in December against Derby that would have won them the league as well and under 3pts for a win, Ipswich are champions. Spurs stayed up by winning four of their last six as well, including one against Luton and a last ditch 4-2 win at Leeds on 28 April...

FWIW, some sad cunt has gone into this page and in a fantastic parody of the lack of history, has swapped Derby (winners) for Chelsea (relegated).

You can't just rewrite history, nobhead

Incidentally, same season was the only time two non-top flight sides played in a cup final (League Cup). Not only that, but no top flight side made the semis either (United were in the second, Chester in the fourth)
