then you get old,

to look around at what you settled for all those years ago,
and it aint pretty.
but you been there for so long,
and you're not twenty any more,
and that's it.

if its any consolation eric all built up areas are now shitholes, if you want nice and peaceful you have to go where there aren't many people or abroad

I dont really know what one is.our estate isnt the worse, there is mostly good normal people live on it.we have of course the riff raff but thats normal anywhere.A 5 minute car drive will take you breathtaking scenery so its not bad I suppose.and we have loads of trees.hence the potentially killer tree >>>>>>>

Car on blocks outside and different coloured doors to the panels.
Fridge on grass, door open.
Mattress, grey with greyer stains.
Driveway is two lines of paving stones separated by two to four feet of bare earth with a tussock or two of grass.

I digress, playing the stereotype there... I was raised on a sink estate and I've always believed it to relate to the proverb "everything but..."

It's the proverbial last thing to go, and in upward mobility, those who are ill-equipped or ill-starred to be upwardly mobile, whether it be because they are happy revelling in their own shit knocking out flims to perennially stone teenagers or because they can't move because Diamond fucking Dave and his predecessors have abandoned them because they're ill or infirm, old or a victim of an accepted societal evil, are those who are the last to go. So they live on in the sink.

That's just my thoughts, though
