When I lived there (1949-67) it still had all the original Victorian features...ceilings, fireplaces, picture rails, outside toilet, cellar etc
It was beautiful. My dad stated to box everything in and remove fireplaces just before he sold it though.

Its a shame but at that time its was the done thing.whats worse when they do it now.
