hearing rumours next voluntary exit offer will be jul/aug to go in oct/nov - suits me fine

move to coast, should be mortgage free

do nothing for a while, absolutely fuck all, maybe some fishing (and more than likely decorating/refurbing)

won't need to worry about money for a good while but will probably be going there with business plans ready for i.t. stuff, probably web design and some sort of support, have had offers of some freelance work/consultancy

plan b will be to register interest with all of the enemy - bookies - just in case i can't be arsed to work for myself - could be stressful

if all else fails, i will be living on the coast and maybe having to do about 20-25hrs a week stress free work just to cover pocket money and protect savings

not found a downside yet, bit worried about the business plans as i can get carried away and could overload myself with what i'm thinking of

roll on the offer, my pen is wet and ready Cool

Have you got friends and family there mate.
Sounds ideal for a few months but lonely after that.

couple of friends and sis live on the coast, i've told people i will still pop back to the local once a week for beer, darts and fun

thing is, i have always liked the sea, want out of the rat race as its no fun anymore and i am watching people literally die around me

aso, i have never done nothing, ever, always been education and work, no break of more than a fortnight leave ever - i want to try do nothing properly

can afford to not work for a while, want to try working for myself but also need to insure against things not working out

work is getting so shit and it is so expensive to live and work in london i am effectively living to work - it should be the other way round

still can't see a downside, done the maths a hundred times

and i'm only talking an hours drive or 60-90mins on the train from where i am now anyway

i dream of doing nothing and not having to get up for work

drinking coffee on the beach watching the waves and seagulls as opposed to drinking coffee in grime street looking at smashed bottles and vomited kebabs

commuting - fuck that

how many times do we think 'oh shit' about work and all that comes with it?

Sounds good to me Abdul. Why not just combine it all together and make a private subscription betting service. Free help here from friends , I could supply a few bets/ lays to help you out, Tony a few soccer punts etc. I'm sure you would make a profit for those who just havent the time or knowledge to make it pay. Well worth a go IMO

No, no no, it will be nothing gambling related, when I move to the coast expenditure will have to be reduced to protect savings as I want to do nothing for a good long while.

Any IT stuff I will be doing will be maybe with a couple of mates one of whom is already freelancing as a mgmt consultant and the other who may be taking the payoff too, he's a developer - I'm thinking starting a small business providing IT services to small businesses and targeted individuals, I should land on the coast with plans and firm them up while doing nothing.

Plan B will just be taking a p/t job somewhere to protect savings.

If I do any forum related stuff it will be for fun only, though I am thinking of one that could turn profitable.

Bottom line is escape the shit-stream, relax for a while but have some plan Bs for insurance.
