Could you eat yourself to survive?

I don't mean permanently (you clearly couldn't as there's a clear case of diminishing returns) and I don't mean to the point of permanent disfiguration. I mean through eating extraneous skin, hair maybe and just long enough to stave off starvation until rescue?

I should have had a drink tonight, I think.

I suppose i would if i had to, but not so sure about the hair tho .

This thread is also the reason I should drink sometimes.
