Unlucky not to get bigger as well, Kit, as I think there was a rumble in the RPost on Weds that shaved a few points off him.
I'd sooner be holding that chip than not even so

Can't have that, Tone. It's a mental test as well as a good way to go for a walk (Mark Twain notwithstanding). It shows something about your own capabilities if, on the easiest stroke index hole on a course, you take a 12 and then play the next perfectly well.
The fact that so many clubs end up in lakes, bins and I'd imagine windscreens makes it one of the great internal struggles. And that's without hitting a fucking ball. And anyone can do it. You don't see Mabel in her '97 Ford Fiesta trying to take a milk float on the inside before having to run into the car park at Sainsbury's for as quick a piss as she can manage and try and get out before the no. 12 (Torquay) bus gets in front of her
Televised, though, it's green, a white dot on a blue background, green.

Re: my only bet in the golf
My four, FWIW, were
Schwartzel
Rock
Allenby
Lawrie
Quite happy with that portfolio at the minute. Biggest winner would be Lawrie as I have a sly sidebet on him being the highest placed former major winner EW at 80s as well.
Kit, I misread your bet - I thought it was "Top English" which I'd seen tipped up bigger.
He's in the mix, which is more than can be said for LJW. "Maybe next year, Tim..."

Re: my only bet in the golf
Just to revisit this for the safest bet of the weekend which is a standing order on a Saturday night and although I didn't partake, dropped again this week.

Re: my only bet in the golf
US Open starts tomorrow and I've resurrected this thread as I think Tom Lewis might ruffle a few feathers. 33/1 Top English (1/3 1-2 out of nine runners) isn't the worst bet ever, he's 300/1 in the outrights.
Matsuyama and DeLaet my other two. I of course know fuck all about golf.

Re: my only bet in the golf
The Open, top 7s and 8s abound EW 1/4 and Tiger Woods at greater than 20s to start meant that irrespective of back surgery and little prep, I had to back him.
He's made a good start.
Also on Matsuyama at 66s EW, they sit side by side at -3, three off the lead.
Have backed Garcia win only as well, only because last up at Hoylake he was right in for winning and then turned up in some lemon skin tight garb on the Sunday and the R&A or whoever said "he can't win dressed like that..."
Penny plays on Marc Warren 200/1 (-1, was better mid round), Zach Johnson at 50s (same, -1) and Danny Willett, 100s, who's over par.

Re: my only bet in the golf
Sorry, Tone, wasn't on Willett but did back Matsuyama this week. Thought I'd put up, might have put it as a multi on another thread, I'm very erratic at the minute...

Re: my only bet in the golf
Seems I hadn't. Had the fifth in the Lincoln with Matsuyama and two losers, bet covered itself and a couple of points over. Not great but mine...
