the power of discussion,
yesterday i was in with the pro- boot-camp/national service camp.
and now?
it really does require a generation of thought,
and good intentions.
society needs to have some sort of foundation,
and the sound foundation that we once took for granted,
is all but gone,
gnawed away by the the ignorant, the illiterate, and the vote-seekers.
and how low can we sink?
how much shit can we take,
before we start to choke on it?
good question.
expressing an absolute abhorance and loathing only panders to the thrill-seekers imo.
maybe that old muslim who's son was killed had it right when he said "go home".
(just fuckin,,,,,,,,,go home.)
but maybe they haven't got a home to go to.
define "home" if you will.
helluva world ain' it.
but when your country has become the worlds social dustbin.
it's a toughie.
answers on a postcard please.

Bang on, Eric. And the third of those has a responsibility to the first two that it completely absolves itself of in the name of retaining power. The first two of course have a responsibility to themselves but this country has allowed self-obsession to become acceptable in the wake of the decline of the media, the rise of reality TV, the culture of "Haves" where people seek to win votes to marry a footballer live on Channel 4 and one is evicted week by week.
Prince Charles should never have married that first wife. She was the bell wether in this decline - courted the press and repelled them in eual masure and became the development of lazy celebrity-oriented journalism instead of news. Look at the 70s before she arrived - there was effectively none of this. Chantelle Houghton would still be Chantelle Houghton.

Re: the power of discussion,
so;
what's a "me'me'me...self'self'self." society to do?
i'm not a communist,
but why can't we come together,
and at least,
so far as the majority is concerned,
let's ALL have some.
there's always gonna be an elite,
and why shouldn't they be rewarded for that.
and then there'll always be the parasitic,
why should they be rewarded?
at all.
i read the daily mail's saturday essay today,
and was totally with it,
until they brought up religion.
LOOK!
i think that i'm a pretty decent type,
work hard,
pay tax,
law abiding,
etc.
and i don't do it in the name of god, allah, vishnu,or any fucker else.
i do it cos that's how i am.
i don't need to join some elitest club and spout off about it.
nuff said i think.
conscience maybe?
we don't have a pained/embarrassed grimacing smillie.

Re: the power of discussion,
Coming together isn't Communism, it's humanism, Eric. Trouble is, down that road is meritocracy and egalitarianism and that scares the living shit out of many because they have to produce results to justify their position.
And they aren't up to it because they have no affinity for their fellow man.

can't go on though,
can it.
even with the apathetic society that we are,
something is gonna snap,
surely.
