I'm a Lancastrian
...and proud.
I've been drinking tonight because after 77 years of waiting, we won a county championship. I have eaten, I have drunk, I have wept and I have laughed. I'm doing all right

Meschede was wicket no. 800, edging behind to Gareth Cross, and Somerset are 131-7, lead by 31
11:22
Thanks for having a go at the quiz. The answer was Anderson Chapple Martin 2002. Last 3 in Championship was Chapple Martin Watkinson 1994
11:22

11:40
Slog sweep by Thomas off Kerrigan for 4 brings up the Somerset 150, now 153-7 with Trego 46 Thomas 6
11:43
20 overs gone this morning, Somerset adding 52 runs to go to 157-7, lead by 57. Trego 49 Thomas 7
11:55
Slow going at the moment, with Keedy and Kerrigan trying for a breakthrough, silly mid off and silly mid on hovering round the batsmen. Somerset 162-2 Trego 54 Thomas 7
12:07
Steven Croft in to the attack, replcing Simon Kerrigan. Somerset 174-7, lead by 74
12:08
Kerrigan now replacing Keedy at the Old Pavilion end
12:13
Straight 6 by Trego off Kerrigan to take Somerset to 184-7, lead by 84 Trego 70 Thomas 13
12:16
15 minutes away from lunch and the new ball is available in 7 overs

Somerset reach 200 to stretch their lead to 100 runs, with 5 mins to lunch
12:34
Just as I was typing Lancashire were having a tough hour before lunch, Kerrigan struck with the last ball before lunch. Thomas is out, caught by Smith and 205-8 suddenly looks a mile better!
1:08
Here we go with the final afternoon sesion of the afternoon. Murali Kartik the new batsman joining Peter Trego
1:19

Comment From Neil Docking
COME ON THE LANKY-SHIRE!! Neil Docking, Lytham-Saint-Annes.
2:16
Halfway through the day, with a minimum of 40 overs left but far more than that will be bowled due to the spinners
2:18
Comment From Sean Brown
Come on boys one last push!
2:23
Kerrigan struck for 2 sixes by Kartik who goes to 50, but then an inside edge just evades Smith close in at bat/pad
2:24
Big shout for lbw against Trego but umpire Sharp unmoved
2:30
Breakthrough at last! Trego pushed down the wicket to Kerrigan, and an inside edge ballooned up to Tom Smith at bat/pad. Last man Hussain in
2:41
A direct hit by Gary Keedy from way out accounts for Hussain, Somerset all out for 310, Lancs need 211 to win
2:46
Lancs need 211 off a minimum of 28 overs, but because the spinners have operating a lot, we will get more overs than 28.
The way it works is that we will start the last 16 overs at 4.30pm, so there is 1 hour 20 minutes plus the last hour (of 16 overs) to come
2:49
Players back out, we will play now until tea at 3.10pm. Hoton and Moore opening with Kirby opening from the River end
2:59
Hampshire have lost a 5th wicket, 255-5 lead by 86

Please
3:03
First boundary goes to Stephen Moore, leg glance, Lancs 13-0 need 198
3:03
Pull for 4 by Moore off Kirby, 17-0 need 194
3:06
End of 3rd over, Lancs 20-0 need 191 to win. This will be last over before tea
3:11
We are going to get one more over, Lancs 26-0 need 185
3:16
That is tea, and Lancs 32-0 after 5 overs need 179 more runs to win from 60 minutes + 16 overs (for the last hour starting at 4.30pm)
3:36
Back under way after tea, single to Horton off Thomas, 34-0
3:47
Six to Horton over square-ish 3rd man, Lancs 55-0
3:51
4 to Moore, ball spinning past Meschede on the boundary
3:58
Lancs 66-0 after 10 overs, need 145 more off 16 overs + 43 mins..
Hampshire are now 100 in front with 5 wickets down
4:06
Straight drive for 6 by Moore brings up his 50, Lancs 90-0 need 121 more
4:11
End of 13th over, Lancs 101-0 need 110 off around 22 overs
4:13
Lancs 103-0 need 108 more from 17 mins + 16 overs
4:16
Kartik wide for bowling leg side, then cover drive 4 by Moore, Lancs 110-0, need 101
4:18
End of 15th over, Lancs 112-0 need 99 from 13 mins + 16 overs
4:22
16 overs gone, Lancs 121-0 need 90 more. we think 2 more overs before last hour

Re: I'm a Lancastrian
I had a few, Eric, and I got into work to the strains of "I didn't think you'd be in today, but stretched out in a gutter somewhere surrounded by bottles".
Had a few rums and an Old Crafty Hen. Distinctly wobbly about the house and needed drinks with fruit in them next day to get me back on my feet.
