Happened in the 2004 Euros when Denmark played Sweden...a 2-2 draw would see them both through while the Italians would go out.
Instead of the usual 16/1 at Betfair for 2-2 it was 9/2. I also rolled my eyes like you and layed it for £300 thinking they wouldn't dare.

Dangerous line Italy took - they had a huge incentive to score three and even concede one doing it as it would knock out the 1-1 draw (better coefficient than the Croats).

They didn't. A canny Spain would have done for Italy by conceding last kick of the game for 1-1
