nobster,
it's all about "terminal velocity".

weight + height etc.

you just have to be sure.
well,
as sure as a person can be.

i only go about 68kgs.

so it can't be high enough.

imagine,
like any other way out,
doing that and surviving.

Sad

Be warned, this is NOT for the squeamish.

(Very graphic)

What happens to you when you hit the deck from a great height Eric.

nobster,
i won't go there,
as you know.

but,

there's only one question for me,
and it IS un-answerable.

okay,
you hit the deck,
at faster miles per hour.

you jumped from x,
your weight is y,
x + y = job done.
in theory.
but you're not dead.
technically.

so:
can you see?
can you hear?
are you aware?
of anything.
and most importantly of all,
can you feel?
anything?
the 6million dollar question,
did it hurt?
DOES it hurt?
like hell probably.

but i associate it with when i was given liquid diazapamn (excuse spelling) by my dentist,
for quite a few extractions.
i kept telling myself,
just swallow the green stuff,
do it,
how bad can it be?
the means justifies the end.
fingers and everything else,crossed. Neutral

i knew a young copper years ago.
only just out of training college,
and got called to a suicide.
somebody jumped off the roof of a shopping-centre,
body was like a bag of crisps,
jagged pieces of bone sticking out through his skin,
all over.
but he wasn't dead. affraid

the debris doesn't matter.

Weight isn't an issue, Eric. All objects fall at the same rate, the only difference is factors such as wind resistance

maybe i've read too many stories from the past.
watched too many films.
real or not.
about people being certified dead,
and then,
some how,
not being dead.
skeletons discovered in coffins lying face down.
i got this stupid irrational fear of suddenly waking up in my box.
i intend to be burned,
wich wouldn't be so bad.
BUT;
if you've done a 300ft. free fall,
without a chute,
no way is there gonna be any question of regaining consciousness.
eh? Very Happy

it's just finding it within me,
to make that leap.

and then,
i probably never will.

if i lived somewhere like eastbourne,
it might just happen.

for me,
it would be an impulse thing.

so,
i shall probably live to be a 100.

what could i have done that was SO BAD?
