Wimbledon and Torquay both score!
It's Barnet in the second slot now

Wimbledon concede! Back into the bottom two, Aldershot concede and are down for certain barring some serious contrivance in at least three games

Brentford meanwhile unhook the kitchen sink to prepare to throw it at Doncaster Rovers in the Third Division (sic) as one of them will be automatically promoted today

York score! Sweaty arses ammong the 22 men of Dagenham and Redbridge as they go into the third bottom slot and will shit a brick if Wimbledon score again

Wimbledon score! Barnet concede! Dagenham might have been in the bottom two for a second or two but we'd need a stopwatch and a slide rule to see. It's Barnet again...

If Wimbledon concede, they're right back in it. Dagenham are safe as long as Barnet don't draw or better. York are 18th but with a freak gust of wind and so forth, could still go down

Torquay concede in stoppage time but had scored earlier and we missed it. They draw and plan for next season.

Plymouth lose, York win at Dagenham but all are safe unless Barnet find two minimum

Re: Anything can happen in the next half hour...
It is strange to see that York would have still been clacking it with five to go and 1 up when they appear to have finished comfortably (two from Dagenham would have had them looking at Barnet)

Re: Anything can happen in the next half hour...
Four seasons on, where are they now?
I'd add that in Wales, Prestatyn were about to win the Welsh Cup, embark on Europe, top the league, finish in the relegation slots, stay up on licensing, get relegated the year after, lead the Alliance only to slump from mid-season on, finish mid table and then win seventeen of nineteen this season having staved off taxman extinction.
I would watch that film if I hadn't lived a fair bit of it.

Ends up
17 York City 46 55 - Conference, bottom and 7 points away from safety - look dead set for sixth tier next season
18 Accrington Stanley 46 54 - Still in the old Fourth Division, 21st, 2 points clear of the drop with a game in hand
19 Torquay United 46 53 - Conference, 17th, four points out of relegation slots
20 AFC Wimbledon 46 53 - 12th in the old Third Division and doing best of them all despite the fact they were going down before kickoff
21 Plymouth Argyle 46 52 - Still in the old Fourth Division, 2nd in auto promotion slot, six clear of fourth with a game in hand
22 Dagenham & Redbridge 46 51 - Conference, 4th, playoff spots, six clear of sixth but played two more
23 Barnet 46 51 - Still in the old Fourth Division, 9th, on the edge of a fairly open playoff picture
24 Aldershot Town 46 48 - Went into administration five days after this thread took place. Conference, 7th

70 gone and it's
Port Vale 47
Forest Green 47
Morecambe 46
Barnet 46
Chesterfield 38
Port Vale losing 3-0
Forest Green losing 0-1
Morecambe 0-0
Barnet lead 1-0
GD is not Barnet's friend but Morecambe are in the hole for the last 20, FGR and Port Vale are safe but they'll be looking over the season and thinking of the odd decision that's kept them afloat

Barnet go two up. Coventry and Morecambe, should they draw as it stands, go playoffs and survival respectively. It apparently has not been the game for the watching

Meanwhile, in East Lancashire, near neighbours Oldham and Rochdale will fight out a relegation spot later unless Northampton (playing Oldham) win by nine and Rochdale lose and then they both go down.

Barnet go three up. As it stands, they need at least four more.
West Brom meanwhile are refusing to go down

Re: Anything can happen in the next half hour...
Barnet win 3-0. Coventry are booing their own players.
West Brom now looking for Southampton to lose every game bar one, Swansea to lose every game bar one, and the game between Southampton and Swansea to end up a draw and West Brom to win their last game.
