Can't understand why you'd use Norton and the inherent shit you go through it uploading and registering and so forth when you can do the same thing with AVG Free, it costs you fuck all and it doesn't fight with other elements of your system

Use Chrome or (better) Firefox then. Tony uses another again which he's recommended before but I'm using a self-installed non-Windows Ubuntu system (wonderfully named Peppermint Three) on a netbook, running Firefox.

I'm no Bill Gates, Eric (although I could probably do a fair impression of him) and it was a piece of piss to install. As it isn't Windows, it needs no security (Windows needs it because it has the facility to employ executable functions and they are the source of cyberabuse).

Failing that, get a reconditioned piece of kit from a bloke out of the Yellow Pages who does repairs. He could set you up with everything you need and self-updating and so forth for less than the cost of new kit.
