Who do I leave out, Tone? Moore or Beckenbauer? And out of the front six, I'd have been hard pressed to have declined (if available) Puskas, Kocsis and Hidegkuti as a unit (the more you look back, the more you think the best side not to win it were not Brazil '82 but Hungary '54, who rewrote the book), but I can't have Baggio over any of them.

I think I scored 45 but I shit all over the pundits in categories. If it was down to stark numbers, you pitch in Der Bomber, for example (14 in two tournaments) with Fontaine and Ronaldo (13 and 15). The only one of those I'd have though, would be Muller.

You can get better, obviously, but picking this

Krol and Maldini are a class above Thuram and Vogts mate.

I put them in for the World Cups they won, Tone.  Thuram in particular.  Here's a curiosity for you - have a look at Thuram's international career.  Then look at how many he scored.  Then look at when he scored them.  What are the fucking chances?
