they gotta do something about the benefit system.
when a person can't afford to take a job because of the loss in income that it represents,
something is terribly wrong imo.

Can't agree with that, BOAT, only on the grounds of what the YTS system did to the employed back in the 80s. Why pay going rate when you could get a kid in effectively paid by the government to do the job for nick all and replace him with another one in six months?

Workfare schemes would exploit in the same way. More so in the current climate as there's a minimum wage to get around.

The thing is, the state is happy to see people out of work provided that everyone else is ticking over nicely. "Labour isn't working" was the slogan in the seventies, it got them out and the next lot in doubled the total and didn't give a flying fuck.

I'd not have them doing jobs that others are doing bert, simple helping out in the comunity even if its just keeping their own gardens tidy and helping others etc Very Happy
