My Spanish is still basic and the fuckers talk far too fast for me!!

My Spanish is still basic and the fuckers talk far too fast for me!!
Bet they soon gather your English
....i recall lots of the Spanish women loved small children and babies. Very nice people.

The true test of fluency is not so much if you can converse but if you can argue in a language. I've been in that position and it is on occasion solely down to immersion in a language you've learnt to what you might think as only a rudimentary level. People forget that spoken language uses a very small register and as a rule isn't as daunting as it seems.

this is 100% true.
i was struggling along with chinese for over a year and thinking i'd never get there, until one night i was caught out in a bar of ill repute. nothing had happened and i was being set up as an easy mark. suddenly, everything i'd learnt came surging forth and i was able to argue my case with clarity.
being polite is well and good, but calling someone a cunt and defending yourself is natural behaviour.
