These Chilean miners...... got me thinking

Good to see the rescue going well this morning and how different some of them are taking it now they are back on the surface.

Then i kind of thought about this mans daughter





and what kind of ordeal she must have went through.

I bet it takes some time for these miners to get back to normality ...if ever

Frankly one of the most heartening stories I can ever recall, this - every one that comes up you want to cheer, it's basically looking like 24 hours of good news, which is so fucking rare.

That and it's the cunt Thatcher's 85th birthday today and she's been ousted by the miners. Got to fucking love that.

If she lives to see 90, I hope on her 90th the manufacturing base of the UK recovers on that day and there's another poll tax riot. I can get a few from Brixton and Toxteth to light a few fucking candles for her as well...

Everyone out. One of those stories that restores your faith in people but at the same time has you thinking that if it were here in the UK,

• they'd still be down there and they'd be on their sixth evacuation plan using mice and fucking string
  
• Labour would blame the Conservatives
  
• The Conservatives would blame Labour
  
• The LibDems would have made a U-turn on their original assessment and said Dave was right
  
• Gordon Brown would have slapped advertising on all the rescue equipment and made the miners wear t-shirts sponsored by Ocean Finance - "I was in a hole and OF got me out"
  
• He'd have opened a casino using the location at the bottom of the shaft as a USP
  
• David Cameron would have allowed only 60-75% of the miners out, the remainder being left to die as saving them was not economically viable in the current climate and "we are all in this together"
  
• Wouldn't have stopped the Ant McFarlane foreheaded cunt turning up for a photoshoot where he looks around pensively or rails at the heavens "why, why?" though
  
• Gazza would have turned up halfway through with a can of Tennants Super, a fishing rod and some chicken
  
• The mine owners would somehow be turning the whole situation into some sort of fucking positive despite the fact that the mine didn't collapse in the first place through good practices and concern for the welfare of its employees.

Although that last one would be true in Chile as well

I believe the Chilean Miners are now on their way to Anfield to show Roy Hodgson how to get out of an enormous hole before Christmas.

true.you cant blame people having aspirations BUT it was so shortsighted . Here we had the labour council demolishing perfectly good housing that had fallen into disrepair due to mismanagement and now waves of 'outsiders'.

She floated BT and underpriced the fucking thing (even allowing them to be bought in instalments so you could cash in right off and sell them to someone bigger) and every government ever since has done the same because they have a massive structure in place that you simply could not build now and that distribution network value is worth more than the bare bones. They'll fuck up Royal Mail as well by doing the same.

Thing about BT, though - I was already a fucking shareholder, as was every last one of us. A day later, six percent of my shares minimum were in the hands of foreign interests.

Eventually, she ran out of things to sell. Labour spent thirteen years shutting a post office for every half-working day and opening a betting shop in its place.
