Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes Liverpool have been following an "agenda" in maintaining their defiant stance around Luis Suarez.
Ferguson revealed on Friday United had been asked by the Football Association not to offer any comment on the row between Suarez and Red Devils defender Patrice Evra at Anfield last month, which has led to the Uruguay striker being charged with making racist comments.
That did not stop Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish confirming the Merseyside giants still stood by their man, who continues to protest his innocence.
Ferguson described that as a continuation of a policy by Liverpool to "drip-feed" information into the public domain in defence of their man.
"I have noticed it has been part of their agenda over the last couple of weeks," said the United boss.
"They have been drip-feeding a lot of stuff. I understand that.
"They want to protect their player. He is their asset.
"We have been asked by the FA not to say anything about the Evra situation. We have abided by that. They will deal with it."
