NHS Direct have said to alternate the calpol with infant neurophen and that enables an extra dose in 24 hours cycle. Both sleeping now but i expect a restless night as the nurse on the phone said it will take a week to work out of the system and improvement

Could still do a drop of the green ginger wine or similar alternative mixed with the calopol sooter .

Honestly against flu jabs, as there is no real evidence they give any protection. People will always get flu and some will die, its just what happens, you stand better a chance if your not high risk. So trying to keep fit as possible is more beneficial imo

i don't have kids yet, but can't see any point in flu jabs.

i think most of us are brought up the same way. get sick, get better and move on.

flu jabs seem like denying the natural order of things and once you do get sick, you're fucked.

Calpol/Nurofen alternate might be old advice, BOAT, not sure - it was how the way of treatment for anything like this until a year or two back though. Might be thinking of "for under-fives", though, as they changed guidance to say, nurseries administering Calpol at the same time.

If using paracetamol, separate from the "do not overdose" rejoinder, I've always been advised that if using it effectively for a set period of time, to use it as if it were prescribed, i.e. space the four doses over a 24 hour period rather than "use when necessary". It is more effective that way.
