we all know next year will be a huge pile of over-commercialised shit that runs at a massive loss that this country will spend years paying for on top of the ever worsening recession but on the plus side if i do escape my job by xmas at least i won't be within 70 miles of the gridlocked tourist packed terrorist target fiasco

however, if you could transport yourself back in time to when olympics were just good old honourable sport events, let's say to the 1912 olympics in sweden, what event would you have done?

it was a funny olympics, a wresting match took nearly 12hrs and the winner was so tired he couldn't do the final so someone else won gold, the jap marathon runner took 54 years to complete, as it was sweden they wouldn't allow boxing but you could do deer shooting instead and they also let women play, in a couple of events

tug of war for me i think, only 2 teams played, the idea was to pull the other team across the line but neither could do it and britain lost by disqualification to sweden when they got tired and sat down, probably drunk
