No, the event is important but the aftermath is even less so - it is an experiment you don't carry out as it exemplifies the need not to carry it out.

The event is important, but it does not need to be created to be important - merely in hypotheticals it works. The actual observed result is a complete fucking waste of time. It doesn't matter whether the cat is alive or dead - it will be one or the other but the only use that would be is if you were having a bet on it.
