fancying trying curry.
well,
just an idea for adding a little spice to my weekend.
and boat,
it's the only kind of spicing up i'm likely to fancy,
or get.
okay?
have bought a tub of asda "mild curry powder".
we shall see.

Chopped onion garlic ginger 3 or 4 hot chillis turmeric, corriander cumin tin of chopped tomatoes, chopped okra, nice dolop of madras curry paste add meat lamb, chicken simmer long and slow till tender and stir in a few shakes of garam masala once off the heat before serving... you can cool it down if too hot wirh coconut paste and natural yogurt. Serve with Basmati rice , chapatis, and popadoms, im not a fan of naan bread myself too heavy going.

Re: fancying trying curry.
Eric, Sainsbury's do a Basics jar for I think 9p, yes, 9p, that can go three ways for you.
(i) You can try it, find it a bit bland, bump it up with something else a bit stronger and job's a good 'un
(ii) You can try it, not like it and you've lost 9p
(iii) You can try it and like it. You have a lengthy supply subsequently for under a pound
Handy for kids (and mums who don't really care for it and dads who have to be careful with spices...) who like the idea of curry but don't want/can't tolerate even the mildest burning and you can throw it together in as long it takes to chop up a chicken breast or two.
The jar alone is worth more than 9p

Re: fancying trying curry.
well,
i think it is said that there are health benefits from eating curry.
but i'm not really a curry eater,
and what i've got is asda medium curry,
it seems okay.
could certainly do with those endorphins.
apparently.
we'll see.

Re: fancying trying curry.
mj,
all i'm doing is throwing a few spoons full into a big casserole that i do every saturday.
it's nothing special.
i fill a pot with an assortment of vegetables,
and that does me for the weekend.
the baked bean thing was just to find out if i actually LIKE the stuff.

Re: fancying trying curry.
not really mj.
borin old tawt eh.
nah,
i just amble along in my own little world.
so predictable.
my food,
pack-up for work.
bus times.
cooking saturday morning,
the rest of the weekend in the bunker.
i don't have the capacity to fancy anything really..
this curry thing is merely a variation on a theme.

Re: fancying trying curry.
mj,
i wouldn't see it if it pissed on my boots and spat in my eye.
i'm too busy being a loser.
i reckon that "my boat",
if there ever WAS one,
came and went a long time ago.

mj,
if my wife had half a brain,
she'd have dumped me before we married.
only,
she was as desperate as i was.
