Seemingly they were very good quality guitars and Sakura were amongst the japanese makers of 70s involved in the lawsuits with the likes of gibson and fender etc.
Looks a steal, so i'll be wanting tips on how to play it.
looks the same as this

Nice.
Can you finger pick like Spanish, flamenco ? or are you chords rhythm and lead...or very versatile and can play any type?
I'll probably have to grow and shape my finger nails if i'm to take it seriously, but whem i'm bowling i like very short nails

I can play any style Boat...I particularly like to finger pick on an acoustic.
Having said that, I've been told I have a mean strum on the electric when piling chord sequences up.
Regarding nails....keep the left hand ones very short (assuming you are right handed), the others don't matter really.

There is nothing, repeat nothing, as good as helping your child to master an instrument.
I did it with my son from when he was 7 until he was 14 and better than me.
Lovely days.

Got the guitar last night Tony, everything is perfect or it was. It needed tuning as its been stood with slack strings for a good while . Got it more or less in perfect tune when one of the white plasitc rollers in the machine heads cracked and broke off. Can you buy these individual or is it a new set of machine heads?

Most music shops sell them individually mate. Take the guitar into the shop so they can see which one to give you.bitofatwat wrote:Got the guitar last night Tony, everything is perfect or it was. Got it booked in for a full re string and the roller sorting. He said its probably because its been stood for so long, and others may follow so it might better to get a full set of new machine heads fitted.

Re: calling Tony
Tone, finished the Friday book, a cracking if poignant read. Currently on "The Iron Heel" by Jack London. Fuck me, it's over a century old and other than at the time of writing (early 20th century, nascent Socialism) it's never been as appropriate as it is today.
