Winning when you know you were lucky.

Happened to me tonight.
Fancied one dog @ 4/6 and that should have been my only bet.
However i fucked around with a few races trying to trade and ended up completely red before the main race.
nicked a oner in the end but could have been a massive loss.
Feel gutted at my own stupidity and lack of discipline even though i have won.
Anyone else get this feeling?

"Play to lose and win if you can" - my grandfather, who died before I was at the age of majority. Stuck with my old man, though, and he passed it on.

He also said about night racing that "if you can't find winners in the day, you shouldn't bother in the night" and about Newmarket that it's a "rogues' meeting". Don't agree with either of those, but then it isn't 1935 now.
