how do you know if somethings old.I have a writing cabinet I think its 50's it weighs a ton.how can I pin it down, it has no dovetail joints.

My mum's dad fought at the Battle of Mons with the 4th Middlesex and because he never stopped talking about it as he got older he was actually known as 'Mons'...it became his nickname that everyone knew him by!
