this morning,walking to my bus-stop,

i was ankle deep in dry, brittle,rustling leaves.
tomorrow,
after the rains.
it'll be a dirty,sloppy,shitty,mess.
time for road-sweepers to get rid.

there are still a few leaves left in the trees,
hanging on dourly,
resisting inevitablility.
god bless 'em.

i saw a gritter last night.
it wasn't THAT cold.

i suppose that is to come.
and i'm too old for that shit.

i wonder if nobby has room for a lodger.
