when they go to their beds,
they vacate the living room,
where i sleep at the weekend.
also,
they can't sleep with me in the bunker.
so i go downstairs,
when they come upstairs.

it works for us.

we have phases.
basically,
it's "them 'nd me".
i keep myself to myself,
and i over-hear mumblings and mutterings between those two.

right now,
for reasons only known to her (or not,maybe it's a time of the month thing ),
she,and i,seem to be having moments of verbal intercourse.
nothing ground-breaking,
just idle chat regarding day to day goings on.

as for lardthing,
i haven't so much as looked him in the eye,
in almost ten years.

no,
it's not nice for her.
and,
yes,
i'm a failed husband,parent,human-being,whatever.
but,
having to recognise the possibilty that lardthing COULD grow up,
eventally.
and maybe even fuck of (please god),
in the fullness of time,
with the outlook for her health and physical well-being not good,
i'm not much,
but i'm all she's got.
if lardthing DOES ever leave.

so,
we just live our lives,
from day to day.

there's not much else to say really.

her silences used to irritate me,
but then,
even those two,
can sit for hours,
and not speak a word.

they're numb from the neck upwards.

but i don't mind.
it DOES make for an easy life.

like i've said before,
we don't argue.
