Bought 3 salmon steaks this afternoon and coated them in olive oil and chilli flakes before grilling them.
Boiled the new jersey potatoes, and served them coated in butter and pepper alongside the fish which I squirted lashings of fresh lime juice on and a nice crisp giant gherkin to finish the meal off
. All washed down with a cold beer.

The beauty of salmon is you can cook it just about any way you like.

Big mushroom, onion baguette, English mustard, hot beef.

I could weep. I could have eaten a horse between two bread vans

No, beef with English a massive weakness of mine, Tony. It's the only thing I use English for, bizarrely. It's like the way there are four or five different types of pickle, three mustards minimum and a couple of relishes in the fridge, all earmarked for different things. If I were ever snowed in and ran out of food, I could survive on seasonings for about a week
