Just got to the bottom of the bottle and there's slimy brown residue in it....is that yeast or have I poisoned myself?

it's what they call leas.
the residue from spent yeast.

Natural sediment, Tone, don't worry about it. It's like buying Old Dan here from Thwaites - you leave a drop in the bottle to pour away, 7.4% proper brew. Your Hoegaardens have a similar rejoinder too, it's not just an apple thing
