In a bizarre twist, if Steve Stricker is drawn to play with Phil Mickelson tomorrow, I'll have been on both final pairings in both majors so far this year.
Lefty would be a nice winner for me.

So he finishes second
Have also a slight interest in Els as top ROTW and and can't recall for the fucking life of me whether that list includes Australians or not (i.e. whether there was a separate "Aus" market). The difference between a winner and place only at 14s...

Re: Batshit crazy multis
A bit more pissed off for Mickelson, tbh. 6 times he's been second in the US Open now, including 1999 when he wore a beeper on his belt in the last round and was going to walk off if it turned out his wife was going to have the baby.
That baby was speaking at her end of year doings this year, now aged 14, and he determined he would see her do her bit and fly in afterwards. He arrived back at 4am on the opening day, was on the practice ground at 5am, was on course at 7am and threw a 3-under 67. Today was Father's Day and his 43rd birthday. Fucking hell, you're in the States, why can't you give him the Hollywood ending?

Hollywood ending And his daughter was there to see it.
Didn't have a penny on but could not be more pleased for Lefty. At the same time turned a pretty good win out of Matsuyama. My record at the three majors so far this year has been
Snedeker Masters
Outright T6th 35/1 (EW 1/4 123456, half stake for two way DH) (Nice because I'd taken 20s 12345 earlier in the year which he bollocksed up so separate single at better place terms, nice)
Top American 2nd 14/1 EW 1/4 1234
Small loss on Cabrera (backed @ 22/1 in play, win only, lost in playoff)
Mickelson US Open
Outright 2nd 25/1 (EW 1/4 1234567)
For some fucking reason, no bet @12s for top American (wins)
Top ROTW Els 2nd 14/1 (EW 1/4 1234)
For some fucking reason, no bet @80s for outright (T4 of four so at full terms, no dead heat 1/4 1234567)
Matsuyama Open
Outright T6th 250/1 (EW 1234567, 2/3 stake for 3-way DH)
Outright T6th 150/1 (EW 12345678, DH doesn't apply)
Also smaller EW interest Delaet, Aiken (83rd and MC) and tiny pitch on Cabrera on Saturday night/Sunday morning in case he threw the 68 he was capable of (he could equally shoot a 78) - T11
Would have been sending hate mail to Adam Scott (again) for sinking a fucking huge broomhandled putt (again) on the final green (again) had I backed Matsuyama in any ROTW market but tbh, I didn't even consider it.
Fact is, with my lead selections, I have three places thanks to the generous terms given for the Majors. Roll on the PGA

ALL ante post NR no bet in the local independent...
Likely to pitch:

Big Buck's

Did the four (Silviniaco Conti, Hurricane Fly, Big Buck's and Tidal Bay) in an EW Lucky 15. Backed Tidal Bay singly at 20s before weights today

Masters is over.
Matsuyama 66/1 1/4 odds 123456 finishes fourth. I'll accept that...
Went Snedeker again as well at 40s. Missed the cut, the bellend.

Re: Batshit crazy multis
This year I'm going with a couple of old saws
Firstly, the National. Recent years have illustrated the Hennessy can be a massive pointer - Many Clouds went one step further and won both last year. It can be a race where a horse that's tidy but not quite top drawer can go well (or even not so well) and then go even better over further in April. Rough Quest did it, Bindaree did it, Neptune Collonges did it, Earth Summit did it and even Red Marauder did it. It can be a race where an older horse, beginning to drop marginally in the weights, can get its last hurrah at Aintree after showing it still has a tune in it at Newbury.
So this year, First Lieutenant (3rd) can do it. 33s at least is available at the mo, possibly even 40s in places.
Secondly, the FA Cup. I'm just going on a coincidence back and what I fancy might be a bit of potential value to boot. In 1965, against a fourth tier side (Stockport County), Liverpool needed a replay to get through in an early round. In 1974, against a fourth tier side (Doncaster Rovers), Liverpool needed a replay to get through in an early round. Both years were the first and second wins of the FA Cup for Liverpool. They now have a home replay against Exeter after a draw and a home tie against West Ham for a place in the last 16. They are a tidy double figure odds and I reckon that's worthwhile.
Liverpool to win the FA Cup, 12s
I may add more as I get progressively arcane

Re: Batshit crazy multis
Liverpool fuck up the cup thing when, hilariously, when backing in the cup I'm usually an Everton backer
Anyway, have just placed the following which leaves a nice car-sized bit of breathing space to the half a million limit...
Edgar Balthazar for the Spring Mile (50s) EW first 4
Man of Harlech for the Lincoln (12s) EW first 5
First Lieutenant for the National (33s) EW first 5
Hideki Matsuyama for the Masters (35s) EW first 8
All a quarter odds place terms, 50p EW Lucky 15 for fifteen nicker.

Re: Batshit crazy multis
Have to post this as it amused me. Nominally an aftertime but here's how it works.
I like to see if I can find a handful of horses on a Saturday as it's the one day I get to invest a bit of time in them and watch as well (either live or in catch-up) as well as the big races are now all but exclusively on Saturday (which is a bit fucking cheeky - The Derby, ffs)
I like to find 8 because I have a bit of a staking plan which is designed for me to not lose too much and by return, be unlucky when it wins unless all the stars align. I play EW because that's the kind of guy I am... The thing is, the 8 has a miracle chance of dropping, I know, but if it does, I want to be in on it. I worked out that should that ever happen, a throwaway fiver on a penny EW goliath would invariably be beyond the limit (£100k) of the independent where I bet. Ladbrokes next door is £1m. So I bet in one and do the pools bet next door.
So Saturday, I went (in clock order), with a potential £4.5 million capped at £1m for my penny...
Charles Camoin 2.40 Asc 16/1
Convey 3.0 Hay 7/1
Dal Harraild 3.10 Asc 11/2
Blue Rambler 3.30 Hay 33/1
Mickey 4.0 Hay 7/1
Sir Robert Cheval 4.10 Asc 20/1
Afjaan (NAP) 4.15 Kemp 5/1
The Tin Man (NB) 4.30 Hay 8/1 (R4 25p)
They went
Charles Camoin 2.40 Asc 16/1 Unpl 6th
Convey 3.0 Hay 7/1 Pl 3rd
Dal Harraild 3.10 Asc 11/2 Pl 3rd
Blue Rambler 3.30 Hay 33/1 Pl 3rd
Mickey 4.0 Hay 7/1 NR
Sir Robert Cheval 4.10 Asc 20/1 Pl 3rd
Afjaan (NAP) 4.15 Kemp 5/1 Won
The Tin Man (NB) 4.30 Hay 8/1 (R4 25p) Pl 2nd
So after the first is run out of a place, I ended up with
Win returns - £0.06
Place returns - £171.00
Which has got to be the singularly most bizarre return I've ever had...
