Re: 2014 Tour de France cyclist takes out spectator
That certainly looked intentional, Tony.
No surprise though.
Recently, many riders have been becoming more and more frustrated with the number of spectators that have been getting too close to the action - especially the idiots who want to take so-called "Selfies" of themself and the leaders or the peloton.
I read several reports of riders knocking cellphones from spectators hands on the UK leg of the tour.
However, on the two days that we viewed the tour 'live' we did not see any such incidents from our viewing spots.

Oh yes, it was deliberate, as deliberate as the slapping of mobiles.
All good fun!

As a road racing fan for almost 25 years, it doesn't bother me too much that the odd ingrate watches the tour 'roadside'.
Keeping them involved in the sport and not losing them is the real battle, imo.

I love cycling.....I spend 3 months a year in Spain and the roads are always being closed for races while I'm there.
Great spectacle....the wife and love watching them speed by.
Going back to the gif...the give away that it was deliberate is the fact the guy stops riding and coasts into the intruder.

I have never been to Spain for the 'Vuelta a España'...maybe one day I'll check it out.
However, I have now been present at 12 'Tour de France' and 5 'Giro d'Italia'.
Not bad, imo.

Tone, they'll close a Spanish road for a goatherd, let alone a herd of cyclists travelling at ramming speed.
Different way of life. I remember being on a train crossing the Spain/Portugal border at Vilar Formosa/Fuentes D'Onoro and going straight across, minimal break, no bother. The reverse journey, stop for an hour and a half while the crew got a table out on to the platform and had their fucking dinner

Damn right, Tony.
Yesterday, my wife and I drove down to Sheffield and rented some bikes to do this climb...

Surely a better cycling fantasy would be to fuck her while she's dressed in a pierrot costume - she's a cyclist, it's already a cycling fantasy. The clown suit is just for me.
