Re: Boat - are you doing a world cup comp?
What about this format anyone?
We will be predicting each game, then when we reach the knockout rounds i will post the fixtures later. the points system is 1 point for the correct outcome (e.g England win, another point if you guess the score correct, and you can guess the first goal scorer in each game which will be also worth 1 point).
You have to choose which 2 teams you think will progress from each group - 3 points for each team u predict correctly to qualify, and if they are in the right order of winner/runner up u get 10 points.
Golden boot - you can have 1 guess at who you think will be the top scorer (if he finishes 1st you will get 10 points, 2nd 8 points, 3rd 6 points, 4th 4 points and 5th 2 points).
Keeper - All pick a goal keeper and every game they keep a clean sheet you will recieve 5 points
Total goals in whole world cup - you will recieve 25 points if you get it bang on, if nobody gets it exactly then the nearest will get 12 points however if two people guess the same number of goals they will get 6 points each and if 3 people do then 4 each etc.
Total red cards in World Cup - you will get 10 points if you are bang on.
Total penalties in World Cup - you will get 10 points if you are bang on.
THIS IS NOT MY ENTRY BUT AN EXAMPLE WHICH CAN BE USED AS THE TEMPLATE
Golden Boot: David Villa
Keeper: Hugo Lloris
Goals: 146
Red Cards: 13
Penalties: 22

Re: Boat - are you doing a world cup comp?
No
Too many variables and would be a nightmare to score.
How about predict, the final 2 teams (10 points per correct team) , golden boot (10 points) and total goals scored in comp as a tie breaker?
EASY EASY EASY EASY....

You could add group qualifiers to that, Chips, rather than game by game

Re: Boat - are you doing a world cup comp?
Could do, don't want to predict the outcome of every game, because I'm away for the 1st week of WC and wont be logging on from Turkey.

"Why, are you going to Turkey?"
What would be your best putdown response to that question?
