and in no time at all i'm getting off.

now i have a long walk to the outskirts for coat-shop.

walking down a grubby street,seeing boarded up shop windows and doorways,
interspersed by;
ladbrokes,
something called chinatown,a takeaway i think.
video-knights,
one-stop.

and wouldn't you know it?

aint that just a sign of our time.

anyway,
onwards and outwards,
and i could smell that i was leaving one world,
and entering another.

suddenly there are high hedges,fences,and electronically controlled gates.
with trimmed lawns and cherry blossom.
freshly cut grass,i love that smell.
primroses and honesuckle.
mmmmmmmmmmmm,
deep breathes,
life looks pretty sweet in this outskirt.

and then,
quite abruptly,
there are industrial units,
and there it is.

STERLING SAFETYWEAR,
it looked big,
and intimidating,
and i couldn't do it,
i just couldn't find the courage to go in.
so,
after all that,
i turned and walked away,
back into town.


i had 10 minutes to get supplies from asda,
then catch the next bus.
yeah right.
so it was do the shopping,
chips from the greasy greek,
then long wait.

watching the sights go by,
oh boy.
tits,bums,and tatoos.

people,
they really are something else.

why is it that when i travel i think seriously deep thoughts about my life?
and i always end up with guilt.
and i hate that.
i don't think that it's fair.
they think that i don't care,
i'm just old,
and tired,
so tired.

and so now i'm home.
spewing out all this shit.

and ever so slightly embarrassed by it all.
