Oddly, givent he title of this thread, I don't feel a bit dirty. I've just had a salt bath and it's something I haven't done in an age (quick showers are the thieves of such moments of uncomplicated rest). I practically squeak if you try to run a finger across me (that isn't an invitation for any of you to make me squeak, or to run your fingers across me. If that's your interest, please, start another thread...).

That first plunge below the surface though, when your back shouts at you "about fucking time, that's what I'm talking about..." as the waters say to you "we welcome you, we embrace you, how can we soothe you, will this help?" A price beyond rubies. And somehow, I know not how, but without topping up, I managed about two hours and it only at that point started to become lukewarm. I've had a good read, I might have some cheese to top it all off...

Salt bath does the dead skin thing, yes, but I was told to take them a few years back for a wound I had (the salt irrigation doing its job). Found them suitably cleansing and relaxing and so kept them going now and again. A pound a bath does the job and doesn't irritate.

Better I dangle than not...

when I had my boys years ago the hospital provided salt for our stitches.12 years later it was some white liquid stuff.I always have epsom salts in the cupboard.
