fish and chips

Iv a real issue about chips that have been blanched ,I hate that ,never did it at our place but since iv left and sampled chips from elsewhere ,I know they're at it   

Why, Jonesy? I occasionally blanch spuds but usually if I'm sautéing thin slices in a frying pan. They come out better, IMO. Chips, I don't. Surely there are spuds that don't need it?

There had been rumours of Marigold's nosediving in quality.

Glad to say they're all my arse. Fantastic show for us today, huge meaty bit of cod, chips bang on as ever, mushy peas of a quality to compliment them, it was a fight to get through it all.

Must admit, it was nice but nothing special in my opinion!
Onions were nice and big I remember.

Reviews read a lot like Marigold's, tbh - queues down the street and so on. I suppose you need big onions to face the queue...

Had a tidy outing today, down by the river, generic pub but top class, light but crispy batter and done to perfection. Unusual for Liverpool, that.

The chips were fucking awesome, the fish was tidy as ever, peas were good and plentiful and a coconut ice cream at Nicholls in Parkgate afterwards. A good day.

Went to Jan and Julie's in Rhyl a week last Saturday as well. Outstanding as ever.

Now my mouth is watering.

Been North Wales two days oin the spin, no chippy run in either.
